On 11th and 12th November, our workshops team took our Puppet Making and Theatre workshop out to Southampton, to work with the primary and secondary pupils at Forest Park Special School.  As part of this workshop, participants are given the opportunity to firstly design and create their very own rod puppet, and also to take part in a performance for an audience of pupils and teachers, using the puppet they have made.  The workshop is not only a lot of fun, but also provides an opportunity for participants to practice following complex instructions and to use their fine motor skills whilst making the puppets.  The workshop can also help to build confidence by encouraging the young people to speak and perform in front of an audience.

 We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the pupils and staff at Forrest Park Primary and Secondary Schools for a really enjoyable two days of working with them, and also to give a really big thank you to the Teenie Miss and Mr Beauty Pageant in Southampton for fundraising in the area for us and making these events possible.
